1. Pop in the included batteries (screwdriver's in the box).
2. Fill the tank — the car is designed not to drive on an empty tank, just like a real car. Start with the 30% button to avoid overfilling.
3. Switch on the car and remote, and go.
Car not moving? 9 times out of 10 the tank just needs a fill-up.

Everything is included, so there's no emergency trip to the store on birthday morning. The car runs on 4 AA, the gas station on 3 AA and the remote on 2 AAA. Tip: a set of rechargeable AAs keeps the racing going for pennies.

No problem — the car never gets stranded. You can fill the tank directly with a small funnel or dropper. Many parents tape one card to the remote so it never goes missing.

Check the tank! The car is designed to only drive with “fuel” (water) in it — just like a real car. Fill it at the pump, and you're off. Still stuck? Our Works-Out-of-the-Box Promise has you covered.

Plan on roughly an hour of play per set of car batteries. All batteries are included to get you started; for heavy racers, rechargeable AAs are the easy (and cheap) upgrade.

There's a small learning curve, then kids do it on their own. Start with the 30% fill button — choosing 99% on a half-full tank can overflow. Ages 5 and under may want a grown-up at the pump at first.

Yes. It's a hard, substantial build that takes bumps into walls, cabinets and furniture. It's solid enough that you'll want to keep bare ankles out of the racetrack!

Rubber tires grip hard floors, driveways and patios best. It drives on thick carpet too, just a little slower. Range is roughly 50 feet.
